Storytelling Photography

I called myself a documentary photographer for a while because I thought that best described me. But I listened to a podcast (I’ll link it below) with Summer Grace about her photography. What she described was exactly the vision I have been having. I feel that it perfectly describes the way I want to transition from being “a photographer in the family” to THE photographer - if that made any sense at all.

I am the not type of photographer to pose people a ton or create style shoots - I more like following people around and taking their photo. Well, I guess more as an artist and not as a stalker. I want to bring that same feeling into a photography business, where I am more taking people on adventures/activities that best describe their everyday life. Cause honestly, the mundane life is so beautiful!

Okay, if you got this far that means I grabbed your attention and I have an idea… would you want to be apart of it? I need couples to do some storytelling photoshoots with me. Here is what I am envisioning…

A day in the life session

Let’s take photos of the mundane - what do you both do everyday?

(cooking, making the bed, cleaning, grocery shopping, working at home…)

Hiking/Outdoors

I think that speaks for itself…. I’m talking hiking clothes, fur babies, whatever weather (rain and mud would be cool)

Maybe we get food after? Maybe lil’ camp site with s’mores…. BOOM?

In Home Session

Do you have a new place that you live (NO, does not need to be a home…let’s do that apartment life)? Do you love spending time home together watching Netflix, playing with your pets, reading, playing games….?

Bar/Coffee Shop/Pizza Place… FOOD!

My partner and I are big cocktail and food people. Are you the same or do you have a place you both go all the time right now?

Let’s capture that!!

Concert/Event Thingy

Are y’all big concert people? Are there place y’all like to go a lot (farmers market, Portland Night Market, Comedy in the Park…?) Or have you guys been trying to get yourselves to do one of these things and need an excuse…. WELL, HERE’S YOUR EXCUSE.

Do you have any ideas?
